Microsoft365 (formerly Office365)
Microsoft 365 has revolutionised the way many businesses operate. Previously Office 365 Microsoft has brought everything under one banner to reflect their full suite of products. Microsoft 365 is designed to help you achieve more with innovative Office apps, intelligent cloud services, and world class security.
Trunk Networks has a wealth of experience in migrating customers from on premise server environments, Windows Server, Exchange Server, SQL Server etc to Microsoft 365. We can help your business make the most of Microsoft 365, from Azure integration to moving your shared data in to OneDrive and Sharepoint. Microsoft 365 is well worth looking at for Windows 10 End Point management too.
Microsoft Teams is for everyone. Covid has changed the way many of us work, more and more people are working remotely and Teams has been a brilliant way to ensure businesses can keep on communicating.

SharePoint Online is a cloud-based service that helps organisations share and manage content, knowledge, and applications to:
Quickly find information
Seamlessly collaborate across the organisation
If you have chosen Sharepoint as your platform you will find it comes with a broad set of features and benefits which can range from a simple document management system to a complete enterprise content management system. Sharepoint can deliver business intelligence features and workflows for business process automation.
Trunk Cloud has successfully migrated numerous businesses from on premise servers to Sharepoint Online and can help guide your business through the same process. One of the worst things you can do when moving to Sharepoint is to simply mirror your existing network share.
Security: SharePoint provides support to both individual users and a group of users. Individuals and groups may or not be given access to some parts and sections of the site whereas selected users may have jurisdiction over whether to remove, add or adjust the site.
Versioning: the history of objects and data is automatically upheld and maintained in the program. Alterations can be made and taken back to an earlier point or state without considering time factor.
Recycle bin: the site has a recycle bin which stores deleted data. The data in the recycle bin can be retrieved at any time; furthermore, the undo feature is supported in this system.
Alerts: interconnected groups and users can receive alerts and notifications whenever a certain document has been added removed or adjusted. When users have been approved with certain authorisations they can have control over their own notifications.
Before you embark on a project to move to Sharepoint, understand that it is not a five minute job.
We apply the “What – Where – Who – When” approach to Sharepoint.
WHAT data do you need to move to Sharepoint? You don’t want to transfer your iTune music or personal pictures. OneDrive is the place for these things. Equally, you don’t want to transfer printer drivers either!
WHERE should that data live in Sharepoint? This is a very important consideration and will require consultation with our client to help us design the Sharepoint infrastructure.
WHO needs access to the data? Do external partners need access to data? Do you need to apply permissions to different sites / document libraries etc?
WHEN should we migrate and once migrated what does the initial training to staff look like?
Team Sites: are locations that you and your teams can work on together and share information from anywhere and on any device. This is where you can store and collaborate on files in real time. The ability for multiple people to work on the same document at the same time (and see the changes as they are made). You can also create and manage lists of information and link them to relevant content. Check-in / Check-out for change management still exists as a way for an individual to check a file out so that it can’t be worked on by anyone else.Sharepoint: integrates tightly with other office365 applications and gives organisations the ability to create plans with Microsoft Planner. Planner is a project management solution which integrates in to Sharepoint, which integrates in to Microsoft Teams, which integrates with Microsoft Stream etc etc.
OneDrive for Business: is great for synchronising all of your personal files across all of your devices. It’s great for centralising “Documents” and “Desktop” so that these roam with you between devices. You can share data with colleagues from OneDrive too.
