“Ultrafast” is the name give to two fairly new technologies G.fast and FTTP (Fibre-to-the-premises). Fibre-to-the-premises differs from FTTC (fibre-to-the-cabinet) as the delivery mechanism is fibre and not copper. FTTC is delivered via fibre to the green street cabs and then uses existing copper infrastructure to deliver up to 80Mb speeds to your business / home.
G.fast uses existing copper technology to deliver the service to your business / home but uses new technology to do so. At the moment speeds are up to 330Mb down and 50Mb up. Its currently being rolled out to 17 locations around the country at the moment and BT expect it to be available to 10 million homes by 2020. Where it is currently available we can supply G.fast at the following prices
